Ron Menzie, of Searcy Arkansas, began his flying career in Rhode Island
in 1968 and to date has logged over 5500 hours in gyroplanes and 1500 plus
hours in fixed wing aircraft. From 1977 to 1987 he toured the Midwestern
states as an air show performer with the Great American Air Circus where
his piloting skills and his bright orange gyrocopter was a popular attraction
with audiences.
His expertise as a builder led to his being honored with the opportunity
to construct the tandem gyroplane flown by Ken Brock for the Antarctic
Exploration sponsored by National Geographies.
For twenty years now Ron has been instructing gyro pilots and currently
operates his own flight school at Searcy Arkansas. The facility is
ideal for training with a 5000 foot runway, with taxiways. Ron holds
an Advanced Ground School Instructor rating as well as a CFI gyroplane,
and Commercial SEL. Ron is the FAA appointed Safety Counselor at
the Searcy airport. Ron is a lifetime member of the Popular Rotorcraft
Association having served on the board of directors for fifteen years.
Searcy Arkansas is located just 35 miles north of Little Rock and is in the geographical center of the United States, this central location in the US allows anyone in the US easy commute no matter where you live.
